West 18th Street Fashion Show - F. Summer(2023)

Announcement of Izzy Vivas as Artistic Director of W18 Fashion Show

The West 18th Street Fashion Show is 23 years old and out of control. Getting pierced and tattooed, shopping at thrift stores and listening to music at all hours.

What is it to be 23? The West 18th Street Fashion Show was founded by women in their 20's and looking back on our younger lives we remember ourselves unhinged, unhemmed, raw and joyful, messy and dramatic.

We are looking for beautiful chaos, gorgeous and unfinished outrageous ideas- progress not perfection.

arrive unprepared
be late and stay late
stain your clothes
dye your hair
love the risk
take the bait
you are only young once
make your tears worth the crying
grease your lips dry your eyes
lace your boots up untying
grab a beer
smoke a joint
practice your sighing
dress up all day like
you’re not really trying

About F. Summer (2023)

“F*ck Summer” was a deliberately anti-season, anti-expectation concept that aligned with West 18th Street’s theatrical and subversive storytelling. Rather than celebrating summer through its typical bright, carefree aesthetic, the show challenged designers to reject seasonal clichés and instead explore darker, edgier, and often ironic interpretations of the season.
